Historically, voting by mail has been safe and secure. It should be this election, too.

We want to present facts, not fear. Voting by mail should happen as normal in Utah, though we understand the uncertainty many feel about it. Here is what you need to know if you plan to vote by mail.

Voting by mail can be done from home and on your own schedule. No lines or having to be at a certain place at a certain date and time.

This administration has repeatedly threatened to disallow mail-in ballots. None of these efforts

have succeeded so far.

On the one hand, declining to vote by mail feels like obeying in advance. Which we should not do! On the other hand, you may feel better voting in a way that doesn't involve USPS. It's completely up to you.

In Utah, you must be an ACTIVE registered voter for a ballot to be mailed to you. Be sure you have checked this at vote.utah.gov  before ballots begin mailing out on October 13.

We cannot stress enough the importance of doing this! Almost 15% of registered Utah voters are inactive, and most have no idea. Go check yours today.

Your ballot needs to be RECEIVED by your County Clerk by November 3, not simply be postmarked. The absolute last day we recommend mailing your ballot is October 27 (one week before it needs to arrive).
